Equipment Coverage
The following equipment is included in the Database. The number of units included, as of January 1, 2008, is over 40,000 (including some units identified as being inactive) consisting of the following product lines:
Mining Trucks - 16,000+ machines
 All rear- and bottom-dump haulers with payload ratings of 91 metric tonnes (100 tons) and larger. Current Manufacturers: Caterpillar, Hitachi/Euclid, Komatsu/Haulpak, Liebherr and Terex/Unit Rig (obsolete manufacturers & models included as encountered).
Electric Mining Shovels -- 1,300+ machines
 All currently produced models ranging in payload capacity from approx. 18 through 91 metric tonnes (20 – 100 tons) along with a substantial number of obsolete models still in operation. Manufacturers: Bucyrus International (including former Marion Power Shovel models), Harnischfeger (P&H). Includes those units supplied directly and through licensing agreements.
Hydraulic Shovels - 2,200+ machines
 All units (front shovel & backhoe configurations, diesel and electric-powered) with approximate operating weights of 145 metric tones (160 tons) and larger. Manufacturers: Caterpillar, Hitachi, Komatsu (including all former Demag models), Liebherr, and Terex/O&K.
Wheel Loaders - 2,500+ machines
All units with net horsepower ratings of 600 kW (800 hp) or greater. Manufacturers: Caterpillar, Komatsu, LeTourneau.
Draglines - 400+ machines
 All walking and crawler-mounted units with rated bucket capacity of 9 cu. meters (10 cu. yards) and larger. Manufacturers: Bucyrus International (including former Ransomes & Rapier and Marion Power Shovel models), Harnischfeger (including former Page).
Tractors/Dozers (crawler & wheel) - 4,000+ machines
All units with net horsepower ratings of 375 kW (500 hp) or greater. Manufacturers: Caterpillar, Komatsu.
Motor Graders - 1,300+ machines
All units with net horsepower ratings of 200 kW (275 hp) or greater. Manufacturers: Caterpillar, Komatsu.
Drills - 1,500+ machines
 All units with net pulldown ratings of 18000 kN (40,000 pounds) or greater. Manufacturers: Bucyrus, Tamrock/Driltech, Atlas Copco/Ingersoll-Rand, P&H and Terex/Reedrill.
